What We Treat

  • Bowel and bladder issues are common, but NOT normal. Including, but not limited to, urine or bowel leakage, constipation/straining during bowel movements, urinary hesitancy, increased urinary frequency/urgency, interstitial cystitis, incomplete emptying, and MORE. Improvement is possible without surgery or medications. Click to learn more about bowel function or bladder issues.

  • Intercourse should NEVER be painful. Is your pain with initial insertion? Deeper penetration? Both? Position dependent? Vary with your menstrual cycle? Just started with menopause? The answers to these questions are key when unlocking the WHY behind your symptoms. This is ABSOLUTELY something that can get better! • Pain comes in all different forms (sharp/shooting, throbbing/achy, stabbing, gnawing, etc). Pelvic floor PT can help with many types of pain including hip or back pain that hasn’t improved with traditional PT or chiropractic care (the root cause is often INSIDE the pelvis).

This can also include tailbone pain, pelvic pain, genital pain, buttock pain, sciatica, abdominal/groin pain, and MORE.

  • Women are amazing! Pregnancy does some strange things to our bodies. If you are experiencing new or worsening aches and pains, new pelvic floor symptoms (see above), or just want to stay as active and strong throughout pregnancy as you can, let us help you along your journey of bringing your little one into the world.

  • Prepare your body and mind for your ideal birth experience. Learn how to push effectively. Learn various laboring and pushing positions. You wouldn’t think twice about training for a marathon, delivering a baby is no different. Click here to start learning th importance of proper pushng techniqe.

  • Whether you’ve had a vaginal delivery or a cesarean, postpartum recovery can be overwhelming. Maybe you want to return to running or other sports, be able to take care of your kid(s) without pain, or just want to feel your best, it all starts with building the right foundation. This often includes breath work, core and pelvic floor strengthening (NOT just kegels), and ensuring optimal posture while caring for your new little one. The internet is full of “free advice”. Let us take the guess work out of it and create an individualized program to help YOU meet YOUR goals. Click here to learn more about postpartum recovery.

  • Have you had to put running, lifting, or working out on the back burner because of pelvic floor issues? This is the place for you. Whether you’re a gym rat or love to workout at home, we can tailor your home program to fit your lifestyle and help YOU meet YOUR goals. Click here to learn more about leakage with running.

  • Prolapse is often described as vaginal heaviness, pressure, or achiness. You can have a bladder prolapse (cystocele), bowel prolapse (rectocele), uterine prolapse, just to name a few. Surgery is not the only answer. These conditions can be treated conservatively to improve symptoms.

  • Whether you work hard, play hard, or just want to keep your body running optimally, recovery sessions could be your missing piece.

We use various techniques (Functional Dry Needling, myofascial cupping, etc.) to improve muscle extensibility/flexibility, decrease pain, and reset your nervous system.

  • You are allowed to come see us even if you don’t have any “pelvic floor symptoms”. If you’re wanting a check up or just wanting to be proactive and prevent issues down the road, we want to help you! Since we are out of network with all insurances, you don’t have to worry about what will be “covered” and what will not. Click here to learn more about pelvic wellness.

The list above is not all inclusive. If you are dealing with something not listed, contact us and discuss your case. This will give us a chance to see if we are a good fit for you.

How Mid-Missouri Pelvic Health is Different

Quality over Quantity

We value hour long sessions that are always one-on-one instead of therapists being double booked or trying to hit patient quotas. We value a hands-on and engaged treatment approach instead of being hooked up to biofeedback or electrical stim machines and calling it “pelvic floor therapy”. We believe your physical therapy should change and evolve as you get better until you meet ALL of your goals rather than discharging once you are “good enough”.

Experience & Specialization in Pelvic Health

We are dedicated to pelvic health instead of just an add-on service with therapists that “dabble” in pelvic health. We treat from experience instead of a textbook or protocol. Our therapist, Jen, has over 8 years of experience specifically in pelvic health and has personally experienced both a vaginal delivery and a c-section. She understands mom life and can tailor your home program to your life.

Intimate Setting with Active Listening

We value a private, quiet, and safe environment instead of having you walk through a busy therapy gym. We allow you time to tell your story instead of interrupting you two minutes into your appointment. You will never have to tell your story or share intimate details of your life with other patients on the other side of a curtain. When you call, you will always talk to the same person instead of a call center or a central scheduling department.

Personalized Care

You deserve more than just hearing “do your kegels” or “have a glass of wine”. We value a head to toe assessment and individualized plan of attack to help YOU meet YOUR goals. You will always have the same therapist instead of being passed over to a therapy tech, assistant, or a different therapist. We value the trust and rapport built between a patient and physical therapist.

I was extremely hesitant to even make this appointment due to the extremely sensitive nature of the treatment. I was SO glad I finally went. Dr Jen immediately made me feel like a friend and her knowledge and explanation of every little detail was unmatched. This is the best experience I have had with a provider in years. Highly recommend!
